So what's this blog supposed to be about?

I have a number of subjects that I could possibly ramble about, but I'm sort of going to see what (if anything) develops. I have a lot of interests in science and engineering subjects, such as programming, electronics, physics, skepticism and so on. I could potentially rant about events and politics (who the hell doesn't these days?). Then, there's movies, music, games, etc. We'll just have to see...

Starting a Blog?!?

I've been sort of wanting to have a blog for a long time, and have several abortive starts in various places. Hopefully, this one will stick.

There are basically three things preventing me from maintaining a blog: laziness, impatience, and hubris (the "virtues" of perl, for anyone wondering where that comes from). Laziness, because I often forget to update things once I set them up. Impatience, because some of the solutions I've considered are a lot of work to set up (see also: writing your own blogging software). Hubris, because I'm never happy with the tool/site that I choose. Will I be able to put up with Blogger? I guess we'll see.
